MCP made tool connection a public protocol

The Model Context Protocol made a previously hidden layer of agent software easier to name: the connection between a model and the tools, data and services it can use. A common interface can accelerate development, but it also makes permission design impossible to ignore.
Protocols do not decide whether a tool should be trusted. They make the relationship legible enough to govern. The important questions are which server is connected, what it can do, what data it receives and whether access can be revoked.
